Traditional Concerts

The most popular, the most tried and true way to experience the arts is through concerts. You can hear the music, see the dance, hear the artists, and really feel the art. While concerts are common, organizations or promoters dedicated to bringing folk artists are rare. Most promoters or local organizations are focused on housing classical arts. Consequently, there is an elitist mentality that is created due to the funds available for such genres. This gap represents a great opportunity, if leveraged could showcase and bring to communities unseen facets of South Asia. 

SAFAC will be bring folk artists to stages that allow audiences to really understand the respective art, all while guiding the invited artists to give audiences context to what they are hearing and/or seeing. Hearing the music and seeing the dance will be complemented with stories about the art, explanations about the lyrics and parallels drawn to present day.
